How many mom bloggers are there?
So you know so and so, who you didn’t even THINK knew how to turn on a computer, is now blogging. Wait…. is it just me, or does it seem like every mom nowadays has a blog, and well – you are almost right. Well kind of.
Beginning of Mommy Blogging
I started blogging around 2000 on BlogSpot. I remember it was right before SXSW and thought it would be a fun to write about the experiences at the conference.
Then I got pregnant and began writing about my pregnancy and future daughter. That was 2003, the beginning of mommy blogging.

Needless to say, I have been in this arena for a while. While yes, the number of blogs have rapidly increase, it definitely feels like there has been a huge rise in moms blogs and for good reason!
How Many Moms Are Blogging?
So moms that blog, or mommy bloggers, whatever you want to call us – there are a lot of. How many? The last stat we have been able to find is 2014 where there are 4.4 MILLION mommy bloggers predicted.

This post was originally written in 2010, a decade ago! It’s now 2020 andI would suspect that this number is at least increased by 50% – if not more. Many moms that I know, have moved on to other genres and blogging niches.
In 2010 there were 3.9 MILLION mom who are blogging. These are moms with kids under the age of 18 who write on any subject, and blog at least monthly.
It’s predicted that in 2014, the number of mom bloggers will rise to 4.4 million. eMarketer is guesstimating that a million moms a year will start a blog. You guys, this blogging thing that I started as a hobby, is legit. Read about what marketers can learn from mommy bloggers.
How Many Moms are Online in the US?
How many mothers are actively online in the United States.
32 MILLION MOTHERS are online. So, let’s do the math – which I such at – but let’s try.
12% of moms who are online, also blog. That’s a whole lot and exactly why it feels like all these moms that you know have blogs!
