Home Office Desks
Don’t worry – I was serious when I said these options will fit every space and budget. Office furniture can be expensive, but we have found affordable desks for the home office. Let’s face it, a good desk is important, but if you are like me – you also need to save that money for all that home office decor!
In order to help this flow best, I am breaking our desks for the home office down into the various types of desk to help you choose which style you are looking for. So whether you have a cloffice (closet office – you guys this is brilliant!) or a full on study or maybe a corner in the living room, we will help you find the perfect desk for your work space.
In the spirit of sharing, i’ll start with my personal desk. I went thru the tedious process of redoing my workspace a few months ago, so I know the struggle, and it’s real.
Adjustable Desk
This past year, we had a “situation” at our house that required us to live in a hotel for 136 days and had a large portion of our house gutted. Which meant, redesign for our home office. Well, not really – but in order to accommodate the flow of the rest of the house – a new desk was in order. As well as a new home office design.
So off to looking for a new home office desk. I wanted something that was more modern, a touch industrial, that matched our wood flooring, kind of but not really. But also needed a desk that worked with a bohemian farm house vibe. So yeah, not at all picky. Did I mention my style is eclectic?
This is what I ended up with. It’s classified as a writing desk but is oversized to manage my large iMac and all the things. I have 4 kids, and unfortunately despite having a dedicated space – things always land on my desk! Also, it’s an adjustable desk! So, if I wanted I could use as a standing desk.
Executive Desks for Home Offices
First, let’s look at executive desks. Remember, we are looking for affordable – so I am keeping things under $750. Yes, that is a lot to some, but not much to others. I figured this was a good middle of the road number. Anyways, let’s talk about executive desks.
I always love the look of an executive desk. In our last house, we had a more formal office with this gorgeous and HEAVY executive desk that I miss. Some lucky soul bought got it for free in our move, but boy did I love that this.
White Executive Desks
Modern, white and clean is the trend. These white executive desks are giving me all the feels.
Here is an affordable white executive desk option that gives plenty of storage but isn’t too heavy looking.
Retro White Executive Desk
This retro white executive desk with chrome legs gives me all the feels. If you like a good throwback look for your home office – this option will do it!
These white executive desks really do pop and can make a statement. Another thing, with white – you leave yourself open to easily changing colors of your office or the desk itself.
Traditional Executive Desks
Looking for a more traditional home office option, here you go:
L-Shaped Desks
With the right room dimensions, L shaped desks are my favorite. With an l shaped office desk, you have a lot of working space. The l shape especially comes in handy if you have 2 computer monitors or if you use a laptop and desktop.
Here are a few of my favorite l shaped desk finds:
L Shaped Desk With Hutch
The l shaped desk with hutch provides a ton of work room and additional storage space, similar to that of a bookshelf. Storage space is always a win in a home office!
L Shaped Glass Desk
If you are looking for a more modern look – the l shaped glass desk provides a trendy took and reasonable price.
I love the white frosted glass l-shaped desk. Lots of room, modern shape and not too huge in size!
Writing Desks
Next, let’s talk about writing desks. 10 years ago, I would have balked at the idea of a small desk. Now? YES!
Writing desks are now a huge thing because most people don’t require desktop computers anymore! With a laptop, you don’t necessarily need a huge desk.
White Writing Desks
Again with the white! Yes, the white trend is here to stay folks. These darling white writing desks make great work spaces, especially in non-traditional office areas.
Modern Writing Desks
Next we have the modern writing desk, let’s face it – these are what Pinterest home office dreams are made of.
Isn’t that pin leg desk adorable? And it’s super cheap – under $75!
Home Office Desks for a Small Space
Now let’s talk small space desks. We hear you, an office isn’t always an option. Sometimes a bedroom works as an office, or a dining room or living room. Whatever small space you use as your work space is, we found you some options!
Check out these home office desks for a small space. Perfectly small but practical. These small space desks also would work well in a kids room or playroom if you are needing a homework space!
The above small space desk could also function as a sofa table or entry table. Bonus – it’s under $75! Two-in-one usage for the win!
Looking for a desk for a small space with storage? This adorable light BLUE office desk with hutch has enough storage to hide your work papers and office supplies. Yet, it is still so cute! This would be the perfect bedroom desk!
This small desk works like a secretary desk. It folds out to reveal a working desk. This could also be a table, it is very small in size, and would work well with other furniture in a room.
Wall Desks
Next, let’s talk about wall desks. In the spirit of finding a desk for a small space, these wall desks are perfect! Wall desks are a home trend I never saw coming, but really practical! These are wall mounted desks, also called floating desks.
We are looking at adding a wall desk to our kids’ playroom so that they have a place to do their homework. Enjoy these wall desk options, comment if you have one! I would love to hear if people like wall desks or if they are just a fad.
Again, we are looking for cheap desks, and by cheap – we mean affordable but all of these home office desk options have to be stylish!
A wall desk with storage – who knew?! This option is very versatile and would be great for a cloffice.
Not only does this wall desk offer storage, it has an adorable and functional chalk board! I would write KIDS THIS IS MOMMY’S WORK on it. But, that’s just me.
I think this wall desk is my favorite. It’s pricier (but still in our office budget!) but it’s big, but not intrusive.
Corner Desks for the Home Office
Last but not least, we have corner desks. Again, with the small spaces – but these can be used in traditional offices as well.
We have a large home office. I think it’s meant to be more of a multi-purpose room but for our purposes, it’s a study. With it’s size, my husband and I both share it.
A corner desk would be perfect for his work area. If you share an office, corner desks work well because they give everyone privacy. Bonus if you have a window next to your corner.
I love that this black corner desk offers storage and space for a desktop computer! My husband, the gamer – requires a large desktop computer which isn’t pretty like my iMac. This would be a great desk option for a corner space.
Finally, the last of our home desk options. This cute grayish corner desk is practical, affordable and functional. Sounds like a win to me!
