Our Family’s WWII Veteran
We love Dallas family events and this one not only will be a great time watching the airshow and visiting the aviation displays – but gives us an opportunity to talk to our kids about their Grandpa and his time in the service.
This past summer we made our way to Oregon to visit Grandpa. While he TECHNICALLY is my husband’s grandpa – I claim him as my own. Grandpa is a proud WWII veteran.
Grandpa recently turned 93-years-old. We are so blessed that he is healthy and can tell us about his personal history with family and in the service. Unfortunately, Grandpa lives in Oregon and not Texas.
If Grandpa was closer, we would be taking him with us to the World War II air show, Wings over Dallas. While he may not be there in person, we will be sending him photos and explaining to our kids how the WWII planes they are seeing were around when Grandpa was serving our country.
Special thanks to Wings Over Dallas for sponsoring this post.
