Okay, you know I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve written about my kids on this blog. Oh the BOYS. I so love them. God knew what he was doing when he gave me these two. They are the perfect combination of crazy and funny.
Here are all 3 of us. I have no idea what is on Zeke’s hand or stomach – just noticed that. But color me not surprised, these boys are in constant need of a bath.
Each of the boys are exploring their boundaries in new ways. Let me tell you how FUN that is.
Izaiah is trying his hand at making his own food. This is a creation I found this past weekend. He made his own lunch.
Crackers (a must at every meal, Skittles (he stole from his brother), Trader Joes Peanut Butter Granola Bar, Popcorn (leftover from a playdate) and Craisins. Perfectly healthy and well balanced. Great JOB Izaiah!
Zeke is well, testing his boundaries in just about every way possible. He no longer cares to sleep. My rock star sleeper is trying to become an insomniac. He also is trying to become a makeup artist.
That’s my lipstick all over his hands. On his mouth, my new eyeliner. I’m not sure if he was trying to draw a mustache, but whatever happened was quite tragic.
On the home front, we are trying to adjust to this out of the ordinary COLD winter that us Texans just aren’t use to. Since the new year, we have had 3 bad weather days. THREE! This is unheard of in Texas. We debated on buying gas logs, but I told Sean before Christmas NAH – we don’t use the fireplace enough. WHOOPS. Every night for the last 2 weeks, we’ve had a fire burning.
In addition to the crappy cold weather, the FLU hit our house. We all were vaccinated, but 5 out of 6 of us ended up with it at varying degrees. I wrote about Surviving the Flu over on Babble – if you need some tips, ZOMG it so sucked. I don’t wish the flu on anyone – especially when there are kids involved.
So while sick, I spent several nights sleeping anywhere BUT my bed in an effort to comfort the babies and keep my husband from getting sick. (Unfortunately, he got sick and ended up in the ER – BOO!! Thankfully we are all peachy *knock on wood* now!) While on the couch I came to the QUICK realization that the 10 year old sofas that I did NOT want to replace until the dog and the last toddler was potty trained, well they NEEDED to be replaced. There are certain things you don’t notice until you are forced to lay on a couch for 10 hours at a time.
So needless to say, furniture shopping has begun – well when the roads are clear. While I LOVE online shopping – I think buying a couch is something I just can’t do online. I am doing window shopping online, and then going to stores. I brought Izaiah and E last time. This is Izaiah inspecting the recliner. We haven’t had a recliner in the house since we moved – so he’s not use to seeing one of these magical chairs. He loved looking underneath inspecting the “pachine” – his word for machine. He informed me that he wants to buy one for his room, but he gots no moneys.
So that’s us, right now. Lots of lots going on. Just trying to make the best of every moment. Our older two kids remind us DAILY the importance of treasuring each day with each kid. They grow up so quick. I know, it’s been said a zillion times before, but it’s the truth.
