You can do anything
– David Allen
Well that just sucks. No really it does.
I am a do’er. I like to work my tail end off to get everything done, but truth be told – it’s not. The kids are fed and clean, 2 of my 5 blog posts that need to be done are complete and as much as I would like to hurry up and finish building a new site, I can’t because I have client obligations. Did I mention it’s 4:49 am and I haven’t gone to bed?
This is my life of someone who thinks she can do it all.
You Can Do Anything but not Everything
Do you follow Zen Habits? I listened to an interview with Leo, the founder. He talked about working 4 hours a day. Get done what is important. Avoid the things that interrupt you (twitter, email, etc.).
In all honesty (with myself -yikes), if I didn’t work all night – 4 hours a day is what I would have. Between the kids and the babies and all that life takes on outside of taking care of all of their needs – it leaves me 4 hours to work. Now to figure out how to cut and refocus to get those 4 hours in.
Oh the life of a digital mom who works, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Do you suck at time management and over obligation?
