Since I went back to work full-time, my time is well – very limited. While there are definite perks, I have to prioritize and things like shopping just don’t happen much unless my outing is to buy groceries.
When we moved, we did a major purge. We had to have everything in storage for a week between our old house closing and moving into this house. With only so much room, certain things had to go. One thing that I donated was an old office chair. It worked, but it had seen it’s better days. ?The move gave good excuse to buy a new office chair.
I work from home 3 days a week, and then in the evenings I sit at my desk and do this or that. The last few weeks, my butt has been numb?from sitting on a dining room chair (TMI, you are welcome.) I decided that my butt had enough abuse and I needed to break down and buy a stinkin’ office chair!
With no time, I turned to my online BFF, Amazon. Here is the deal – I quickly learned that everyone has a different preference when it comes to chairs. I personally didn’t care to spend over $300.?I have a Aeron chair at work – it’s amazing but not amazing enough for me to buy for my home office. ?I wanted an office chair that would look nice and that had decent reviews – oh and had to be available via Prime because you know, I like free shipping and want it ASAP.
My new office chair from Amazon is the VIVA office high back chair. I liked the shape, and the color. It wasn’t solid black – the gray will go well when we complete the office. ?Oh, and it was just over $200, score! Bank is not broken, at least not with this purchase.
It arrived in a huge heavy box and me, myself and I put it together in about 10 minutes. It was simple and I even did it on the first try! Don’t let the minimal instructions full you, it’s really simple to build.
The chair is comfy but not TOO comfy. The arm handles move up and down, and there is a tilt feature too. The color works well also. I’m about 5’6″ and the back of the chair hits the middle of my head.
I always hate buying something online and it being a total bust. If I had time, I would of walked my booty into Staples to give a seat test, but priority now a days when I am not working is tending to the kids and their needs. SO Amazon Prime to the rescue and I have to say, I am really happy with my purchase. The chair did take an extra day to get here – I ordered on Sunday night, it arrive Wednesday. I may have done a happy dance when I walked in from the office and saw the big ol’ box sitting here!
And here is an IRL photo (and part of my office that I totally need to find time to decorate)
A few more things that Amazon has to say about the VIVA high back office chair:
- Ultimate support and extra comfort with double thick padding
- Thickly padded back and seat cushions give excellent lumber support and exclusive comfort for relaxation and recreation
- Adjustable armrest, tilt tension and seat height.High quality Nylon base and Nylon casters to give great stability
- Free two year component-exchange.
There you have it folks, my new office chair review.
