If you were to tell me that a REFRIGERATOR could keep my family organized, well NOW I would totally believe you but before the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator came into our life I would have laughed in your face.
We moved to the country into our older home that we are slowly modernizing. What better way to modernize this family then this amazing connected refrigerator from Samsung.
Samsung Hub Refrigerator
Now that we’ve been using the Samsung Hub every single day, several times a day – I totally get it. This device is brilliant. It’s NOT just the place where our food is stored, this device has become integrated into our family lives.
Who knew? NOT ME. I just thought it was going to be this gorgeous refrigerator, nope – it’s so much more.
Family Organization
Let’s talk about family organization. We have 6 people in our house, and a dog. My husband, myself and our 4 kids. Both my husband and I work full-time jobs and the kids, well are currently out of school for summer. To say that our lives our chaotic is an understatement.
As any parent knows, you must FEED the children. Feeding kids is easy enough, right? HA. Trying to make sure that there is enough food for 3 meals a day for our kids is a full-time job in itself.
Trying to work a full day, come home exhausted and know I need to make something about of leftover ground beef and a variety of vegetables is a normal occurrence around these parts. On top of all of that, those 4 kids – all of have schedules of their own.
Why do I tell you these things? Because this smart refrigerator is helping us sync and organize our family and these “issues” that I complain of.
Syncing Family Calendars
The StickiBoard app is a shared family dashboard that allows our family to keep a connected calendar everywhere, including on our refrigerator’s screen. (You read our Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator Review – right? Yes, this fridge has a 21 inch screen!) I can put down things that are happening and my husband has no excuse not to know about things because NOT only is it on the app – it’s on OUR REFRIGERATOR.
Our teen and her crazy schedule, she knows it must be on the calendar or no chance in the events happening. And everyone can see everything on the fridge! Gone are the days of hanging a paper calendar with a magnet to the fridge door. HELLO to a fridge door that has a digital calendar. Brilliant, I tell you!
Meal Planning
Meal planning is something that i totally SUCK at, but sounds good in theory and the first few days of grocery shopping – i TOTALLY can do. The good thing about having a teen is that they can help you cook. You just have to plan WHAT to cook.
On the days I remember to meal plan, I put a note into the calendar so she can see what she will be cooking for dinner. NOW, if I could just figure out how to get the fridge to remind me to actually do the meal planning….
Grocery Shopping With Minimal Calls Home
Let’s talk another issue. GROCERY SHOPPING. I can make a list and I can check it twice, but it never fails that I have to call home because a recipe I want to make requires “brown mustard.”
If it’s a refrigerated item, I no longer have to call home because my REFRIGERATOR HAS CAMERAS INSIDE OF IT and I can access whats in my fridge from my phone. Nope, not kidding. Here’s a snap shot of what’s in my fridge right this moment.
This is accessed thru the Samsung Hub app.
The other cool thing, you can put digital stickers over items so you know when they go old. Have leftover pizza – put a 4 day sticker on it, so you know when its no longer good. Pretty cool, right?
Food Organization
Before owning this smart refrigerator, my fridge organization well… not so great. Everything was kind of shoved in and organization was pretty much non-existent. T
he design of the Samsung Hub Refrigerator is brilliant. There are 4 doors allowing easy access to multiple parts of the refrigerator.
The bottom right door is a flex-zone. You can choose how you want to use this area. We currently are using it as additional fridge space, but we can easily make it the perfect temperature for wine, or get this – even additional freezer space if needed.

Finding Recipes
Remember me telling you the dinner issue of needing to find something to cook with leftover ground beef and vegetables? Built into the fridge is the All Recipes app. Sure you can use this without the fridge, but it’s totally great and used all the time since it’s right on the fridge screen.
All Recipes lets you plugin a few ingredients that you have and gives you recipe ideas. There is also a huge database of other recipes, so if you know you want to make say a broccoli cheese soup but have no idea how to – let All Recipes help you out. Their recipes are crowd sourced for ratings so you know what others think of the recipe before you spend a time slaving over the stove to make it.
Grocery Shopping From Your Refrigerator
This feature is not yet available in my area, but according to the fridge it’s COMING SOON. Get this. Mastercard has partnered with grocery stores to DELIVER groceries to your house and get this – YOU CAN ORDER THE GROCERIES FROM THE FRIDGE SCREEN.
That’s right, milk to your house, ordered from your refrigerator. Crazy, crazy, CRAZY! Mastercard, please hurry this up to my area. I miss the days of grocery delivery and excited to see this making a comeback, us moms need this in our lives!
Photo Slideshow
Are you guilty of taking photos with your phone and then they stay on Instagram and are never printed? ME TOO. The cool thing is, you can sync your Instagram app with StickiBoard and choose which photos will display on your refrigerator.
No need for magnets! You can also upload pics thru the Samsung app to the fridge’s photo app as well. I love this feature. It’s so nice waking up, all groggy – walking to the fridge to get my iced coffee to see a fun pic from our summer vacation.
Notes
We had a sick kid this past week and talk about awesome, well not him being sick. Do you ever play Tylenol tag team? You know when you give your kid meds, then it’s your husband’s turn and he is suppose to know when you gave him meds but can’t find the paper you wrote the time down on?
We had this happen this week. Instead of using paper, we are using the refrigerator to keep track of when we last gave the kid meds. So great, no magnet fiddling, the time was right there on the fridge.
Oh, Samsung Hub Smart Refrigerator – let me count the ways that I love you. I never knew a refrigerator could help get my family organized, but you did it.
