You guys, today Samsung announced their new Samsung Galaxy S10 series of smartphones. If it’s been a while since you’ve upgraded – I totally get it – but after seeing this, you may just want to get that upgrade. Let’s look at what’s so great about the new 2019 Samsung Galaxy phones.
2019 Marks 10 Year Anniversary of Samsung Galaxy Phones
2019 Samsung Galaxy Phones are ushering in a big 10 anniversary for the revolutionary series of smartphones. While there have been some bad news in regards to the Galaxy series, there has been plenty of fans to keep this line going. With what this series will release in 2019, Samsung is in the smartphone game for the long run and they have upped the ante in regards to technology. Let’s look at what’s ahead for this iconic series of phones.
It’s Not Samsung X or Samsung Galaxy X – People!
First, let’s get something out of the way. 10 years of production and coincidentally – the S10 series launches. Let’s talk about the decision to go with Galaxy S10 rather than Galaxy X or Samsung X. Personally, I think Apple claimed the X with the iPhone X (which has had mixed reviews) – so my assumption, Samsung wants to stay far away from the X and continue with everyday numbers. Plus, really the 10 year anniversary and the S10 are both great marketing messages. (Sorry, once a marketer – always a marketer! Just calling it like it is!)

What’s New with Galaxy S10
Let’s face it. Like computers, smartphones now a days last for years. Do you really NEED to upgrade? No, but with the features offered on the Samsung Galaxy S10 phones, you may just want to. Here’s what’s new in regards to fancy features.
Screen Display
The Galaxy S10 gives you a nearly full screen view, offering barely there top and bottom bezels that Samsung phones have become known for. This gives you that extra room to watch movies, play games, scroll Instagram or whatever you do. Your Galaxy S10 screen will feature a tiny hole that packages the in-display camera.
The screen itself is capable of producing over 16 million colors, with 100 percent mobile color volume in the DCI-P3 color range, the Galaxy S10’s Dynamic AMOLED display offers extraordinary contrast for even deeper blacks and brighter whites. It features a peak luminance of 1200 nits, and it’s the first mobile display to support HDR10+: a next-generation open standard for HDR video. This powerful combination of industry-leading specs allows the display to depict content in incredible detail.
In-Display Fingerprint Scanner
The fingerprint-recognition system is built into the display. Look mom, no buttons!
Focus on Security
Samsung is taking security a step further with their in-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner. It utilizes ultrasonic waves to map out your fingerprint’s unique pattern, and features an anti-spoofing algorithm that enables it to recognize your real, physical fingerprint and reject images or copies of it. This just sounds so James Bondish.
Powerful Lenses for Amazing Photo and Video
What do we do constantly with our smartphones? Take photos and videos, of course! Samsung does not disappoint in regards to their smartphone cameras. Here are the Galaxy S10 camera details.
Each Galaxy S10 comes equipped with Samsung’s all-new 123-degree Ultra Wide lens – which features a field of view that’s similar to the human eye, and allows you to capture the world exactly as you see it – as well as a 12MP, Wide-angle, Dual Aperture, Super Speed Dual Pixel lens. The Galaxy S10 and S10+’s triple rear camera setup also includes a 12MP Telephoto (zoom) lens, and the Galaxy S10 5G’s quad rear camera setup features an additional 3D Depth Camera, which improves the quality of portrait-style images.
Each Galaxy S10 also comes equipped with a 10MP, UHD, Dual Pixel front-facing camera that’s perfect for taking high-quality selfies. On the Galaxy S10+ and S10 5G, it’s paired with an RGB depth lens for added capabilities.
Working behind the scenes to help you snap stellar pics is a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that streamlines image processing and makes features like Scene Optimizer even better. The camera also takes video recording to the next level with its Super Steady video stabilization technology, which lets you take fluid videos during even your most active moments – like when you’re in the middle of an amazing concert or on a bumpy bike ride. And in an industry first, the rear camera also allows you to record in HDR10+ for brilliantly detailed videos.
Charging Power
This is one of the coolest features of the Galaxy S10 series, in my opinion. While the S10 series will support fast wireless charging 2.0, the Galaxy S10 features an all-new wireless charging innovation that will change how you power your other devices.
That’s right – you can charge OTHER devices with your phone. And since the S10 comes with a crazy powerful battery that is said to last 24 hours – you won’t have to fret giving someone else a charge.
The Galaxy S10’s Wireless PowerShare3 technology allows you to share your power with compatible phones and wearables when they need it most. This means that if you’re away from an outlet and your Galaxy Buds are running low on power, you’ll be able to charge them up by simply placing their case on the back of your phone. It’s as simple as that. The Galaxy S10 also includes dual charging support, which allows you to charge your phone and another compatible device simultaneously using a single wired charger.
Galaxy S10 Colors
No one wants just a black phone anymore, and Samsung went all out to make sure that the Galaxy S10 colors are attractive and what people want. Here are the colors you can get your Galaxy S10 in:
- Prism White
- Prism Black
- Prism Green
- Prism Blue
- Flamingo Pink
- Canary Yellow.
Additional color variants for the Galaxy S10+ include Ceramic Black and Ceramic White.
