Google sent me over a Nexus 7 tablet right before Christmas to play around with. Guys, I am typically an Apple gal. I have my iPad. My kids use the iPad and the Kindle Fire. I wasn’t really in the market for another tablet, but it as a gift – who am I to say no to?
Let’s talk about what your need to know about the Nexus 7.
5 Things to Know About the Nexus 7
First, I wasn’t sure if I would like the Android OS. That lasted for about 5 minutes, as navigating the Android OS is easy peasy.
1. Screen Size
The Google Nexus 7 is well 7 inches, which is PERFECT. It fits right in my hand like a gigantic cell phone – but it’s a TABLET not a phone. What I REALLY loved about the size is it slides right into my purse.
As far as sharpness – Nexus 7 ranks as world’s sharpest 7″ tablet screen – 323 ppi. Instagram photos looks AMAZING on this device!
It has a powerful battery – up to 9 hours of active use. I average around 6 hours.
This tablet features quad-core speed and performance, 2GB RAM – in other words, it’s fast. Very SNAPPY!
4. Perfect for the Bedside Table
If you want something that is perfect for your bedside table, this is the device.
I am not a huge reader, but I am TRYING to take advantage of my free eBook a month I get from Amazon Prime. With the Nexus 7, I can lay in bed and not strain with the weight of the iPad (I have the iPad 3). Yes, I know there is the Apple iPad mini – but can we talk about PRICE??
The Nexus 7 retails for just $229! That’s right, that’s it! It’s a great price for a great device.
- Adjusting to the Android app store
- Buy a case! Google sent over a Google case, but honestly would feel better having an iBlason case since I travel with this device. Oh and the fact that I have toddlers and since I am trying to keep this from them, means they are out to find, conquer and destroy.
