Day 25 Lent – NYC
I am writing this on my phone while on a plane, flying home from NYC. Tuesday morning, my sister and sis-n-law pulled off the ultimate surprise. We woke up our girls and flew them to New York to celebrate my daughter’s Sweet 16.
The last 36 hours have been rough. No sleep and going non-stop until midnight last night. Then we New Yorked it again today.
I had a few friends who knew of the surprise tell me to “be safe.” While I know NYC isn’t for everyone, it’s my jam. And i don’t know what was in the air – but as I reflect on this trip – all I am just reminded of all of the good.
There is so much more to write, but for now – I’ll leave you with this. In an old New York Catholic Church, sat this statue of Jesus. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus – and this statue demonstrates this so well.
Now, to sleep. The 7 hours last night weren’t enough. We walked over 40,000 steps the last 2 days and this mama is tired.
