So Facebook has updated the profile layout ONCE AGAIN! Facebook says they want your profile to better tell your story.
SO… What’s up with the new profile layout?
Prominent Placement of Your Stats
Where you went to school, where you live, relationship status – WHAM, up front and center.
Your photos are the main feature, rather than a tab on the side. These photos are those that you are tagged in.
Stolen from Facebook’s blog because they describe it best:
You can now highlight the friends who are important to you, such as your family, best friends or teammates. Create new groups of friends, or feature existing friends lists. I opted to feature my Ultimate Frisbee teammates, giving the rest of my friends a way to learn more about that part of my life.
Easier Side Navigation
Facebook has simplified the main features users use with tabs for Wall, Info, Photos, Notes & Friends. Below that, if you are in a relationship, marriage, etc and your significant other is on Facebook – his or her picture is now on the side tab.
Change Now or Wait (but you’ll have to change sooner or later)
This will give you the option to automatically change your profile to the new layout. Reading thru the comments on the Facebook blog post – buyer beware – you can’t change back to the original layout once you change to the new Facebook profile layout.
Does the New Facebook Profile Layout Tell Your Story Better?
And by telling your story, I totally mean tell your ex-boyfriend from middle school who you are now? Or is this just another lame update?
