Eye damage and screen time? Here is what YOU need to know!
Sure there is a lot of talk about screen time, how much we should give our kids and how they need to spend more time playing. Doctors are speaking out about how screen time can cause damage to your children’s eyes. Is this something you think about? This is new to us. When it comes to screen time, often our thoughts are how we want the kids to be outside getting fresh air, playing with other kids and not always be on screens. Eye damage is just another reason that ma but not on the damage done when they play on the iPad an hour longer than they are suppose to.
We’re going to look at what Doctors are saying and recommending about what to do when using screens and what they have to say about scree time and eye damage.
Eye Damage and Screen Time
Screen time and eye damage. Did you know that doctor’s recommend children spend no more than 2 hours a day on a screen? Another recommendation is to use the 20/20/20 rule.
Every 20 minutes spent using technology, look 20 feet away from the screen for at least 20 seconds.
Now, us parents just need to rally behind the tablet creators and get the to auto-implement this 20/20/20 rule. Can’t Apple just build that into their next iPad?
We are putting in another request to Apple as well. Please create functionality to be able to turn the iPad off remotely. Then the kid would just think the battery died and I wouldn’t be the one being screamed at, the iPad would? Just a thought.
