Eye damage and screen time? Here is what YOU need to know!
Sure there is a lot of talk about screen time, how much we should give our kids and how they need to spend more time playing. Doctors are speaking out about how screen time can cause damage to your children’s eyes. Honestly, this isn’t something I had ever thought about. I think about how my kids need fresh air and need to play with other kids and not always be on screens but not on the damage done when they play on the iPad an hour longer than they are suppose to.
Let’s look at what Doctors are saying and recommending about what to do when using screens.
Eye Damage and Screen Time
Doctor’s recommend children spend no more than 2 hours a day on a screen. Also to start using the 20/20/20 rule. Every 20 minutes spent using technology, look 20 feet away from the screen for at least 20 seconds.
Can Apple just build that into their next iPad…. along with functionality to be able to turn the iPad off remotely. Then the kid would just think the battery died and I wouldn’t be the one being screamed at, the iPad would? Just a thought.
