Our older kids grew up on the Leapster and the Leapster 2 learning systems. Those devices got us through MANY long road trips. Now that I’m a mom to 2 more little ones, I know the LeapFrog brand will continue to be a popular item in this house!
The company just announced 2 new products: the LeapFrog LeapPad 2 and LeapFrog Leapster GS. These items are sure to be on the HOT Christmas toy list for 2012.
LeapFrog LeapPad 2
The original LeapFrog LeapPad received more than 20 accolades including Toy of the Year. The LeapPad 2 is the next generation of this product and like the original is designed to deliver educational and fun for your kids.
The LeapPad 2 will feature higher resolution front and back cameras, along with a video recorder. The memory is doubled from the original LeapPad to 4 GB. LeapFrog has also extended the battery life and will sport a new internal battery system and recharger pack (available for purchase separately).
LeapPad 2 will include:
- Music player with five LeapFrog Learning Songs
- Cartoon Director creativity app
- Art tudio creativity app
- Pet Pad writing app
- and a choice of additional apps
By year’s end – the LeapPad content library will feature more than 325 game cartridges, apps, music, videos, eBooks and more! LeapPad2 is compatible with LeapFrog Explorer cartridges and LeapFrog App Center digital content.
LeapPad 2 will be sold at MSRP $99.99 and is recommended for children ages 3 to 9 years old. Pre-sale begins July 18 on leapfrog.com.
LeapFrog Leapster GS
The LeapFrog Leapster GS, dubbed the ultimate learning game system is a substantial improvement over the current Leapster Explorer. The Leapster Explorer was the #1 selling learning game handheld in 2001 and was awarded the Educational Toy of the Year. Like the Leapster Explorer the Leapster GS will offer fast-action gameplay with a rich learning experience via a handheld device made for kids!
The Leapster GS is thinner and sleeker in design than that of the Leapster Explorer. The larger screen and built-in motion sensor plus camera and video recorder will be sure to keep your kids entertained!
Leapster GS will include:
- “Escape of the Sillies” game app
- Pet Pad writing app
- Choice of an additional app
By year’s end, the Leapster GS content library will feature over 300 action-packed game cartridges, apps, music, videos, eBooks and more! Leapster GS is compatible with LeapFrog Explorer cartridges and LeapFrog App Center digital content.
LeapPad GS will be sold at MSRP $69.99 and is recommended for children ages 4 to 9 years old. Pre-sale begins July 18 on leapfrog.com.
