I’ve seen Instant Pot recipes for cheesecake, pasta, mashed potatoes – all kinds of things – but the sweet iced tea – since it’s a staple in our home, has quickly become our favorite.
Let’s look at how you can make sweet iced tea with your Instant Pot electric pressure cooker.
Instant Pot Sweet Ice Tea Recipe
The beautiful thing, if you don’t like your iced tea SO sweet, or if you just like plain tea – you can use this Instant Pot sweet ice tea recipe and adjust to your liking.
Here are the ingredients you will need to make the best sweet ice tea recipe:
- 2 Quarts Water for your Instant Pot Sweet Ice Tea
- 2 Quarts COLD Water
- 3-4 Family Sized Iced Tea Bags (Lipton is my favorite brand of tea)
- 1-2 Cups of Sugar (No judgement here.)
- Pinch of Baking Soda
- 1 Gallon Pitcher
- Instant Pot
Here’s a tip! Cut the tags off of the tea bags, but leave the strings. Tie all of the tea bag strings together for easy removal!
Place all of the ingredients inside the inner pot of the Instant Pot.
Lock the pressure cooker lid and make sure your valve is sealed.
Press the manual button to 4 minutes of high pressure.
You can quick release – or let the tea sit (I don’t suggest letting the tea sit for TOO long!)
Stir the tea well and remove the tea bags.
Place 2 quarts of cold water with ice in the 1-gallon pitcher.
Carefully pour the brewed tea into pitcher.
Fill a cup with ice, and pour you a glass of the best sweet iced tea made from your Instant Pot! No steeping or bitterness with this recipe!
Baking Soda in Sweet Tea?
Yes! Baking soda in sweet – just a pinch, knocks out any tea bitterness. If you’ve ever had bitter tea you know how disgusting it is! The acidity with the baking soda helps make your iced tea perfect every time.
Instant Pot Sugar Free Iced Tea Recipe
If you are looking to make Instant Pot sugar-free iced tea – just use the above recipe, but do not add sugar into the tea brew. Add in your artificial sweetener before you pour into the pitcher. Another option is to leave the tea unsweetened and just sweeten as you drink each glass.
Alcoholic Sweet Tea
Looking for the best alcohol to mix with sweet tea? Here are a few of my favorite ways to make alcoholic sweet tea. Remember, these alcoholic drink recipes are intended only for those of legal drinking age.
Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey Whiskey Sweet Tea
One of my FAVORITE liquor to mix in with sweet tea is Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey. Yes, it’s a whiskey, so watch how much you pour – but this stuff is delicious!
Absolut Flavored Vodkas
Another favorite liquor to mix with sweet tea is just about any of the Absolut flavored vodkas! Vanilla, Mandarin, Peach, Pear, Lime – you name it! Their line of Vodka is delicious and a great sweet tea mixer.
Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Captain Morgan does no wrong with his Spiced Rum, especially when added to sweet tea!
Perfect Summer Tea Recipes
Occasionally I like to liven my sweet iced tea up with garnishes. Here are a few of my favorite ways to liven up a glass of sweet iced tea.
Peppermint Iced Tea
Fresh peppermint OR vitality Young Living Peppermint essential oil gives a fresh flavor that also cleans the palette!
Sweet Peach Tea
Take 2 fresh peeled and pitted peaches and place the peaches with 1 cup of water and a few tablespoons of sugar(or equivalent value of sugar substitute) into a blender. Blend the peaches until they are very smooth. Pour the peach mixture into either a glass of tea, or if you are making a entire pitcher – pour into the pitcher!
Strawberry Iced Tea
Mix 1 cup of granulated sugar (or equivalent value of sugar substitute), 2 cups of clean fresh whole strawberries, 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice and 2 cups of ice cubes into the blender. Mix and pour into the gallon of sweet tea (make sure to account for the extra volume – use 1 quart of cold iced water, rather than 2!) Don’t forget to add a strawberry to the straw for extra cuteness!
A few drops of honey will kick the sweetness up a notch even more!
Raspberry Lime Iced Tea
This is the ultimate summer iced tea drink! Raspberry lime iced tea is super simple and absolutely delicious. Cut a lime into thin slices. Grab and wash around 10 raspberries. Fill up a glass with your fruit combination of raspberries and limes first, then ice and top off with your sweet iced tea mixture. Don’t forget to add a straw!
Slice a lemon, squirt into your iced tea glass – and make sure to garnish the tea glass with a lemon slice!
