8 years ago, I had a baby. A little girl. This baby started my parenting journey. She made me mom.
The whole birth process was insane. From back labor to an epidural that gave me a spinal that made me get a spinal headache to a blood patch. To you not gaining weight. Thru reflux and colic. Girl, you gave us a run for our money but you are worth every penny. We love you so.
Z, you are so special to us. You have always been wide-eyed and curious. Still to this day, that’s just you.
Each year as you continue you change and grow, you beauty never ceases to amaze us.
You are the perfect mix of the intellect of your daddy and you have the curious mind of your mommy. We see you growing up, and as much as we will try to hold you back – we know someday before we know it you’ll be out on the world-conquering it.
Someday you will learn about birth order. You were most definitely made to be our oldest and first born child. Your leadership skills, even at this young age are strong.
Izaiah and E adore you. Z, I knew you’d be a wonderful big sister – but I had no idea how much love you would exude to your siblings. They adore everything you do. You are the leader of the pack. You are not their mom – even though you like to pretend you are. I totally get it, Z. I too am the oldest sister!
8 years old – how fast time has gone and how beautiful, smart and intelligent you continue to become more of. Every day I thank God for you. You are a prayer come true and we are so blessed to call you ours.
We love you baby girl. (You’ll always be our baby girl!) Please tell time to slow down.

Sigh. This 8-year-old just turned 16. We celebrated in NYC. Read about taking teens to New York City.
