Say what you want about Black Friday, but for me it’s tradition (okay, and GREAT bargains.) Our tradition includes, my sister Betsy, my friend Mel and myself. Around midnight we meet up and spend the night, shopping, people watching and caffeinating. It’s a 8+ hour event that might sound insane, but is one of the highlights of our year.
Here we are fake fighting for a sewing machine. I think this may have to become an annual photo.
This year, Ford offered us an F-150 Limited to enjoy for the week of Thanksgiving, which included our Black Friday Shopping EXTRAVAGANZA! It was freezing cold, but the leather seats (in the front and back!) kept us toasty. We had TONS of bags, and thankfully the cab had plenty of room, and when we filled that – we were able to put some of our items in the bed of the truck.
While I love driving big vehicles, the F-150 Limited is BIGGER than what I am use to driving. With the rear-view camera, and automatic step rail (every time you open the door, the rail comes out to help you step up or down from the truck) – I had no problems driving this truck and honestly – LOVED IT. It is all luxury, and not the old country truck that I drove in year’s past.
Stats for the F-150 Limited SuperCrew with EcoBoost Technology:
Drivetrain: 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6; 4WD, six-speed automatic
Output: 365 hp @ 5,000 rpm, 420 lb-ft @ 2,500 rpm
Curb Weight: 5,615 lb
Fuel Economy (EPA City/Highway/Combined): 15/21/17 mpg
AW Observed Fuel Economy: 11.8 mpg
Additional Options: White platinum metallic tri-coat exterior paint ($495); spray in bed liner ($475); tailgate step ($375); bed extender ($250)
Here’s something about this F150 that I loved – it has amazing gas mileage! I drive a Buick Enclave, and this large truck gets better gas mileage than my SUV! You get heated leather seats and have access to information, your phone, navigation systems, traffic, weather, and entertainment all at the push of a button or two.
The interior has my blessing. With a luxurious and spacious cabin, I would love to road trip with this truck. I know I keep luxury, but people – that is what this is!
The ONLY tech this vehicle is missing was the entertainment center. This truck is totally loaded and does REALLY cool tricks. I spent the week finding new things on this truck – like the ability to choose the color light that lit up the cup holders. Yes, that is how tricked out the Ford F150 Limited is!
