Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that is also known as the Festival of Lights. It is a celebration of the miracle of the oil that burned for eight days in the ancient Temple in Jerusalem, when there was only enough oil to last for one day.
During Hanukkah, Jews light a special nine-branched candelabra called a menorah and place it in a prominent location in their home. Each night of Hanukkah, they add one more candle to the menorah, until all eight candles are lit.

This Jewish holiday is celebrated for eight days, and the exact date varies from year to year because it is based on the Hebrew calendar. In 2022, Hanukkah will be celebrated from December 18 – December 26, 2022.
