Today and tomorrow I am spending at Catalyst Dallas conference. Last week, was one of those pull my hair out kind of weeks. Between end of the month projects and a potty training toddler, I needed a BREAK. I registered for Catalyst, found childcare and counted down the seconds until it was time to leave for the event.
From the moment I sat down in the sanctuary, I knew I was where I needed to be. No kids. God. Good people. Great messages. Friends. Old co-workers. As one friend joked, I was conferencing.
Conferencing – the act of going to conferences.
Today’s event had an amazing line-up. Andy Stanley, Jon Acuff, Craig Groeschel, Lysa Terkeurst, David Crowder, Matt Redman, Louie Giglio (I missed Reggie Joyner). Every single speaker, singer, performer – NAILED IT.

David Crowder in 6 seconds just doesn’t give his music and talent justice. See Shine Video by David Crowder Band.
Tripp and Tyler – Shoot Christians Say
Christians who can laugh at Christianese = priceless.
I spent nearly 11 years working in live events. I had the privilege of working with the people at the Catalyst conference a few years ago when at Thomas Nelson. The people are good folk, hard-working and know how to put on a fabulous event. After attending in 2011, I left thinking this is an event I would pay for. (Previously my old employer picked up the tab.) And am so glad I registered this year.
I’ll post notes after the event.
If you are looking for a christian inspirational event or leadership conference – check out the Catalyst conference. Catalyst Dallas and Catalyst West are smaller in scale (2500 attendees or so) compared to Catalyst Atlanta (full arena!).
The only down side? I realized I have a total attachment disorder and so does my kid.
