Best WiFi Hot Spot for Road Tripping

We love to family road trip. Getting everyone piled into the car with a destination ahead and a zillion stops in between. There is loud bickering and questions about stopping to pee and wonders of when we will arrive. It’s all about making memories, right?

While I love to road trip – I am so great with our kids using screens and devices for hours at a time. While at home we put limits on screen times – in the car it’s a free for all.

Typically we let the kids use our mobile hot spot on our phones but it drains the phones battery fast. Plus, we have 4 kids and I am typically on my laptop – so we are looking at a minimum of 5 connected devices.

Velocity Hotspot Review

Our problem of wanting to be constantly connected was solved thanks to our friends at AT&T.

AT&T sent over a Velocity mobile hot spot for us to play around with. The AT&T Velocity offers worry-free Wi-Fi. Velocity features an intuitive touchscreen, easy connection process, 4G LTE, and dual-band Wi-Fi.

Plus, you can connect up to 10 devices and get up to 10 hours of secure Wi-Fi virtually anywhere you are! 10 devices and up to 10 hours? That’s the kind of internet my family needs.

Velocity Features:

AT&T Velocity comes with dual-band Wi-Fi technology, which means you can choose your Wi-Fi speed. The 2.4GHz band provides the longest Wi-Fi range and is ideal when you’re checking email and surfing the Web.

The fast and reliable speed delivered by the 5GHz band is perfect if you like playing games or watching TV shows.

  • Secure Wi-Fi virtually anywhere
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi technology
  • Easy-to-use touchscreen (it’s seriously easy!)
  • Global connectivity
  • MicroSD card file sharing

In the month that we played with the device, we have used this hot spot on numerous occasions. Our internet was spotty for a few days so just loaded up the Velocity. My husband works on the go – he can just pull the Velocity up and is ready to work wherever.

We had planned on taking a road trip with the Velocity but that just didn’t happen. I did test out far away from city limits and I was still able to get a 4G connection.

If you are a road tripper, if you travel often or if you have 4 kids and you want them to stay quiet while you drive – definitely check out the AT&T Velocity.
