The Apple iPad – an unexpected gift

Here at Digital Mom Blog we test, review and recommend products. At no cost to you, we may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Friday night, baby daddy and I had our weekly date night.  Fajitas at Pappasitos, followed by a detour back to our house before picking the kiddos up.

Weird. So we walk inside and I’m handed a BEAUTIFULLY wrapped gift. There is a card. Happy un-birthday! Okay, this is the part where I get nervous. I love my husband with every ounce of my heart, but this is out of character. This feels too weird as it’s not a holiday.

It’s a Gift

The gift is wrapped perfectly in wrapping paper that I adore. I don’t know what to say. I mean, what is this? Why? EXPLAIN!

Happy UnBirthday!

I open the gift. I cry. Yes, I cry and I’m okay with that. Because.

I own an iPad

I know own an iPad.  I named her Paddy.

Let me just say I have the best husband ever. He received an unexpected bonus at work. What does he do? He surprises me with a gift of an Apple iPad. This is something I have been wanting, but come on. We just had our third baby. We both are working like crazy. A family of 5 with 3 kids in daycare costs a pretty penny. Right now, an iPad just didn’t seem like something I should buy with our normal budget. But the husband is a gem. I’ll call this a belated push present.

I’ll download more on this magnificent device called an iPad later. One thing I will say, if you think the iPad is just a gigantic iPhone… it’s way more than that.

And yes, Words with Friends HD is downloaded and I have at least 10 games going.  More on that later as well.

This is the beginning of a long journey as I switch from PCdom to the glorious APPLE! Slowly but surely. I’ll get there. Until then, ignore me – I’ll be playing Words with Friends.
