The Countdown Until Christmas
There are 3 days left to wrap presents. I have wrapped 10. 10 GIFTS people. That’s it.
While sure, 10 gifts should be plenty – with 3 kids, 1 husband and 9 nieces and nephews, 4 parents, 2 step-parents, grandparents, cousins, ARGH the list will not stop – but you get the idea. There’s a heck of a whole lot of people that we buy for year round to give a little something to this holiday. LONG STORY SHORT, I shouldn’t be typing this I should be wrapping.
In a typical year, wrapping is something I do way in advance, thru out the holiday season. I find it therapeutic. A simple task with a bit of creativity focused on the act of giving. The juggling of all of what life has thrown at us the last 2 months has gift wrapping at the bottom.
Letting The Kids Help. Uhm.
Trying to be resourceful – I decided to take my 7 year old on her offer to help wrap. In an effort to reduce the trash in our recycling bin – I had Z start wrapping the gifts in the Amazon boxes they come in. I thought at least this way, the gifts that are funky shaped would be in a box shape. Easy right? RIGHT?
The good news? Z has wrapped several gifts!
The bad news? They look like they’ve been in a car accident.
It’s all about the intent. Remember that. And these were wrapped with lots of love (and LOTS and LOTS of tape & paper).
