What is Higgs Boson

Are you asking What is Higgs Boson?  We did! I’ve seen this term trending for the last week. Every attempt at finding out what this thing is has left me in a big ball of DWEEB to me, way beyond geek. I typically understand geek – not dweeb.

So let’s rewind:

Wednesday, July 4, 2012 – it was announced that the scientists working with the Large Hadron Collider at CERN announced that they had discovered a particle which appeared to fit the profile of  Higgs boson.

So what is Higgs Boson and why is it important? And can someone PLEASE explain this to me in normal human language with words that I don’t have to google every minute? Well sure enough, MinutePhysics comes to the rescue!
