Oh what a week, work was wild and so was this baby in my belly! This little wee thing is bopping around from here to there and back again. CRAZY.
I am STILL waiting on the magical 2nd trimester energy burst, just not happening!
This past week I was invited to be a pregnancy blogger for BABBLE! So I’ll be babbling several times a week all about pregnancy. I’ll post links here – so be prepared to hear probably more than you want to – i’ll TRY not to share TMI! (I said TRY!)
Anywhoo – on with my bambino:
By this week, your baby is about the size of your palm. His/her eyes are completely forward-facing, sweat glands are starting to develop, and fat is forming. Your baby’s body is also becoming more proportional as the trunk and limbs catch up to the formerly alien-like head.
YAY! My kid doesn’t look so much like an ALIEN!
Z and I snuck away this morning for a little girl time and retail therapy at IKEA! It was grand until we hit the mirror aisle. I was standing in astonishment of the size of my growing belly. Z walks up and puts her hand on my stomach “I can’t wait to meet you, and I’m going to love you if you are a girl or boy”. So sincere, I had to snap a pic. But for your viewing pleasure – I cropped out the nastiness of my horrid outfit and wrinkled shirt, but you get the idea.
She is so excited to be a big sister again. God TOTALLY made her first child material. She told us this week that she is going to be fine if she is the only girl. This is after hearing for the last several weeks “IT BETTER BE A GIRL”. When poking her further on the subject, Z in her wiseness says “Well, if it’s a girl I may not get all the attention. But I’ll love her if it’s a girl.” That right there is my daughter. Honest. Brilliant. Sees the reality and says whatever is on her mind. I love her.
Here I am at 17 weeks with my last pregnancy. HUGE and yep, i’m huge again with #4. *sigh*
Next week we’re headed back to the doctor where I’m sure she’ll suck more blood out of my veins. We also have our BIG REVEAL ultrasound, which we’re still thinking we don’t want to know the sex. And by WE — I TOTALLY am speaking for myself.
Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your thoughts? I mean, what you say is important and everything. But its got no punch, no pop! Maybe if you added a pic or two, a video? You could have such a more powerful blog if you let people SEE what youre talking about instead of just reading it.
