Oh Barbie! If you have a little girl, there is a strong possibility that Barbie is one of her BFFs. At least that’s how it is in this house.
Our daughter, now 9 – has been playing with Barbie dolls since she was 2 years old. It’s fascinating to watch how her relationship with the dolls have evolved over time. When she was 2, she would get mad at them and act out with them. Now at 9, she is doing their hair, dressing them up and talking to them like they are just another friend.
A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to host a “Barbie™ The Princess and The Popstar” party! I had heard all about this DVD before we watched it, so when the big night arrived, the girls were uber excited. I mean, 3 main components that little girls love all wrapped into one movie – Barbie. Princess. Popstar. BOOM! It was a night of pizza, popcorn, tiaras, dresses and Barbie – of course.
Here’s a few deets about the flick:
The DVD – In “Barbie™ The Princess and The Popstar”, Barbie plays princess Tori who dreams of leaving her royal life for the life of her favorite popstar Keira. Simultaneously, Keira is tired of performing and her superstar lifestyle and dreams of becoming a real-life princess. The two find each other and magically trade places. However, not everything is as easy as it seems and the two girls soon learn that it’s better to be yourself and learn to appreciate the lives they had before the transformation. Girls and moms will love the fun music with classic tunes re-written inBarbie style and with eye popping animation, this is sure to become a new Barbie film favorite.
In addition to the movie, the girls played with the new Barbie dolls, fairies and castle. The dolls are the main characters in the movie: Tori doll – a royal princess who dreams of being a popstar. Keira doll – Kiera is a popstar that dreams of becoming a princess.
The castle features 2 miniature princess dolls of Tori and Keira. The castle staircase lights up and plays music. It is quite the sight! I will say, I appreciate how easy it was to put together – so easy, the girls were able to do it without any adult supervision!
The Barbie The Princess and The Popstar party was a blast! It was a night of fun, despite pesky brothers who insist on playing Barbie with them.
If your little girl is a Barbie fan, make sure to check out this new DVD as well as the dolls and castle. They are a huge hit in our house, and am sure they will be in your’s as well!
Stay tuned! We will be giving away a set of Kiera and Tori Barbie dolls this week!
