Today in the WOFfice, the subject of Angry Birds sparked quite the conversation. The conversation carried-on to Twitter. Angry Birds obviously has secured its place in iPhone and iPad success if my non-typical gamer friends are playing!
For those of you who have played Angry Birds for hours on end and can’t seem to beat the level, this post is for you. Here are the Angry Birds Cheats -- Walkthrough for each level. Or if you don’t like the word CHEAT… what about this…. here are your Angry Birds hints
1 week down with my beloved "Paddy" the iPad. She’s been nothing but a gem, so we think we’ll keep her.
It became quite obvious after receiving the iPad that a few things that weren’t included out of the box would be needed. Here is my list of iPad accessory must-haves
Sure, the Apple store has some pretty ones, but those pretty iPad cases are pretty expensive. I’d rather save my change for apps. For $13.49, you can’t beat this iPad case. I use my iPad in meetings – this serves me well as it’s the size of a notebook, and appears as such for easy carrying..The case has a nice slot for me to place my business cards which is also a win. There is a stand so you can use as a digital frame, but I’ve found useful when typing and sitting at a table.
While I don’t NEED this, I have a case – I wanted this and it’s in route. It’s green and that makes me happy and will protect my iPad when it’s out of it’s fancy shell.
The iPad could be nicknamed: iFingerPrints as the iPad screen is dirty, all of the time. This annoys me. The product name listed sure looks fancy.. What this is, is a screen cleaner. I chose this one, since it’s a screen cleaner with a cool bottle that holds a microfiber cloth (that came with the package). Not sure how I didn’t take note to the iPhone screen always being dirty, guess the jumbo sized screen on the iPad is a little more obvious.
So you have an iPhone and an iPad and you swear the Apple cables look the same. Well you are right. Apple ships the same cables/cords with the iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone. But, isn’t there always a but? The difference is in the voltage needed to power each.
iPod, iPhone & iPad Cables & How to Charge Explained – What I Can Use to Charge What
Here’s the deal with pictures – for us right-brain visual types who need photos to learn!
iPod Touch & iPhone
You can charge your iPod Touch and iPhone using the apple cables with your computer OR with the 5 watt USB power adapter for the iPod Touch, iPhone or the iPad.You can also use the 10 watt USB power adapter (that came with the iPad) to charge your iPod Touch or iPhone – it will NOT increase the speed in which your devide charges.
iPad
You can charge your iPad using the apple cables with your computer – though you may receive a "Not Charging" message on your iPad. What does the "Not Charging" message on your iPad mean? It simply means your USB isn’t providing enough voltage to efficiently charge your iPad. Your iPad WILL STILL CHARGE – just at a very very slow rate, especially if you are using it while charing on a computer. This message does not happen everytime, so if you are showing that your iPad is charging, no worries!
You can charge you iPad with the 10 watt USB Apple power adapter that came with your iPad, as well as the 5 watt USB Apple power adapter that came your iPhone or iPod touch… BUT it will charge at a very slow rate. The Apple iPad needs the 10 watt USB power adapter to fully charge in the intended amount of time.
Facts About Charging the Power on Apple Devices:
The iPad fully charges in 2.5 hours – when charged with a 10 watt USB power adapter.
The iPhone and iPod touch also charge fully in 2.5 hours – when using a 5 watt USB power adapter.
Apple iPhone & iPad Cords – Buy in Buik
And a side note, I love you Apple but you are expensive, and this girl is cheap. I buy my cords in bulk from Monoprice. Say what you will… they’ve always worked just dandy for me. Sometimes, I feel like Apple gnomes sneak in at night and steal my cables.. therefore I must always have 6 stashed away in a drawer.
Friday night, baby daddy and I had our weekly date night. Fajitas at Pappasitos, followed by a detour back to our house before picking the kiddos up.
Weird. So we walk inside and I’m handed a BEAUTIFULLY wrapped gift. There is a card. Happy un-birthday! Okay, this is the part where I get nervous. I love my husband with every ounce of my heart, but this is out of character. This feels too weird as it’s not a holiday.
I open the gift. I cry. Yes, I cry and I’m okay with that. Because.
I’ll download more on this magnificent device called an iPad later. One thing I will say, if you think the iPad is just a gigantic iPhone… it’s way more than that.
And yes, Words with Friends HD is downloaded and I have at least 10 games going. More on that later as well.
This is the beginning of a long journey as I switch from PCdom to the glorious APPLE! Slowly but surely. I’ll get there.
Date night last weekend, we pull up to 7-11, becuase we are classy folks who have no expendible income right now due to 3 children in childcare. So no fancy date here.
Anywhoo, after walking into 7-11, I noticed the place had been attacked by ZYNGA. Zynga is the maker of Farm ville, Yo Ville and Mafia Wars.
Farm ville exclusive cups, waters, ice cream – silly silly silly – and the same thing with Mafia Wars.this and that. Purchase a Farmville or Mafia Wars promo item and get a code to redeem online.
As silly of a promotion as this seems, at the end of the day – I think Zynga knows what they are doing – and so does 7-11. They are expanding their reach in unconventional ways. Who would of ever thunk, you can raise a farm on Facebook? OR that you can run a mafia on Facebook?
On a HAPPY note… Zynga is said to be worth over $3.3 BILLION dollars *putting pinky near face and laughing Dr. Evil style*. It’s one thing for a company to make money. BUT when the company finds creative ways to raise money and uses it for the greater good of the world, my heart smiles. Continue building your farm people, and that mafia to – just make sure when purchasing virtual products that will benefit a greater causer. Check out Zynga.org for details.
Zynga is committed to transforming the world through virtual social goods. Zynga players have made real change by raising millions for several international nonprofits since Zynga.org launched in October 2009.
Players have purchased virtual social goods within Zynga games that have benefitted earthquake victims, families without clean water, and children in Haiti through school lunch programs. Zynga.org is also building a new school, focusing on education and futures for the children of Mirebalais, Haiti.
Here are some more papparazzi shots from the inside of 7-11. I know the 7-11 clerk totally thought I was either a freak, a secret shopper, or both. And yes, that is totally ice cream AND water with Yo Ville & Farm Ville.
Woot is a website hosts a one day one deal for one product. At midnight, a new product emerges and us Wootities run to the site to see what it is to purchase. Woot saw the success of the one day one deal model and expanded its brand to now include 1 day 1 deal woot deals for wine, children, shirts and sell out.
Woot has a silly product called Bag O’ Crap. What is a Bag O’ Crap? Basically you pay $5 and Woot sends you just that, a Bag O’ Crap. But get this. The Bags O’ Crap sell out in minutes. My co-worker has purchased a few, basically the products consists of randomness of either broken items, something silly that works -- really a bunch of leftovers -- sold to you thru the brilliance of Woot marketing.
Woot is a game changer. Many others have taken the Woot idea, now there are several one day one sale sites running for various niches. But Woot still does it best.
Woot is also known for their Woot-offs. A Woot-off is consists of Woot continually putting new products online as one sells out. Think of it as a 24-72 hour marathon QVC blog post style shopping. Random? YES. Does it work, DOUBLE YES. Woot-off’s are tons of fun -- hardcore bargain shopping for hours on end.
Last week I had lunch with a friend and he was talking about The 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss. I had started this book, but after listening to what he had to say about the book – I knew I had to finish it!
Problem, I can’t find my stinkin’ book! I know I bought this. I know I had started this. Now where did I PUT THIS THING?
Fast forward several frustrated hours…. the lightbulb moment hit me. Just buy another copy. Then another lightbulb moment struck – just download the book, then you don’t have to wait!
CONFESSION: I am TOTALLY ADD and patience, is so not a gift of mine.
Anywhoo – while on Amazon, I saw the Kindle version – and then thought – ohh… I can so try the Kindle app! So that is what I did.
This past weekend, I’ve spent reading The 4 Hour Work Week on the Kindle iPhone app. I have played with a Kindle, but don’t own one – so can’t give you a total perspective on how it works in comparison to the actual Kindle, but I will say this – I LOVE being able to read a book on my phone!
The Kindle app lets me bookmark my page, enlarge my type, turn pages with a swipe, or turn pages by the glider on the bottom. There is a easy to use table of contents as well as.
Amazon is smart. This app is a brilliant way for Amazon to move into the digital age of ebooks knowing that they can’t have the end-all be all device, they have created an app that will bridge their digital ebook product (a Kindle book) available on just about any platform.
This weekend, I play with the Kindle app for iPad and it was sweet! Check out what platforms the KindleApp is available on.
Overall, am impressed. While I am sure iBooks will blow this away becuase, let’s just face it Apple rules…. Amazon is smart. There product is simple but it does its job. It enables me to purchase a book and read it on any platform I choose – and not have to lug a book around – hooray!

This image is making its shared away around Facebook. I chuckled and thought about the many times I admittedly have almost wrecked while doing something on my phone.
That *#W&4@# iPhone. As cool as you are, you are dangerous and should have an automatic KILL SWITCH when it realizes that you are driving, now that would be a SMART PHONE.
After a close call a few months back while pregnant, I made a commitment to really make an exerted effort to put away the phone and if I am talking to use my Motorola Rokr (bluetooth – handsfree device) rather than holding the phone. Admitting that makes me feel like I drank while pregnant, but hey I just want to keep it real and honest. And no I didn’t drink while pregnant and let’s hope you did not find this blog entry by googling “drinking and driving while pregnant” (but if you did, don’t do that.)
My few months of maternity leave had me watching the Oprah. And the Oprah has her no phone challenge. I signed it. Now her next campaign needs to be, no putting make-up on while driving.
Do you text (or surf, or tweet, or blog, or etc…) while you drive?
Stop. Because I like you and would love it if you could read my blog post tomorrow (okay, that isn’t the reason, because I have NOTHING brilliant planned, but do come back and read tomorrow )
