HomeParenting5 Easy Tips for Capturing Meaningful Moments on a Family Vacation August 20, 2014 We are loading up the SUV and all six of us are heading east to Universal Studios! We are joining our friends from Loews Portofino Bay Hotel and Mom It Forward for a vacation we won’t want to forget. I’ll be doing a few things to make sure that every special memory is never forgotten. Before you head out on your next trip, check out these 5 easy tips for capturing meaningful moments on a family vacation: 1. Family Photos Whenever you are somewhere that you want to remember, hand your camera to a stranger and have them snap a photo of your family. That’s right, get MOM in the photo! 2. Hashtag Create a unique hashtag for your vacation and add it to all of your social media posts from your vacation. Whenever you want to re-live your trip, visit Keyhole to track your hashtag. (This works great when you want to write about your trip later!) 3. Kids Perspective My daughter shot this. “I loved laughing in the car with Zeke.” Get your kids a digital camera or hand them your’s and let them capture the vacation from their perspective. Our daughter’s photos from our DC trip were so fun and show moments she treasured that we would of never thought about! 4. Vlog It! Turn the video camera on and vlog your vacation. After our vacation is complete, I compile all of our videos into one and upload as a private video to YouTube. 5. Create a Keepsake Get your vacation photos off of your computer and create a keepsake. Here are a few ideas from Pinterest: photo book, photo poster, make a canvas, create a shadow box, or make a memory jar. How Do You Capture Meaningful Memories on Your Family Vacations? 4 Responses Jill Greenlaw August 21, 2014 Great tips! Making memories on vacation is so fun! We love to capture our memories in photo books too. See you next week! Reply jyl from @momitforward August 24, 2014 I love the comment about getting mom in the picture. We just went hiking a couple of weekends ago and I wasn’t in a single pic. It was like I wasn’t even there. That absolutely will not be happening in FL. I learned my lesson and your post is a great reminder! Thanks for sharing. Reply Amy Greene August 25, 2014 These are some great ideas for creating family memories after vacation. I know I am not in the picture enough. I love the idea to vlog the vacation and publish to Youtube. So clever. Reply Shannon Schmid September 6, 2014 Whoaa!!
