And the mistake maker of today is…. *drum roll please*
THE SPECIALIST WHO TOLD ME I WAS 95% HAVING A GIRL!

So, I had my 20 week appointment today. Let me preface it with saying, I’ve felt like poo all day. Z had a fever off and on and was home from school. Baby daddy, Z and I headed to the OBGYN for the appointment.
Z has been obsessed with me having a baby since the day we told her we’re adding to the family. I knew she would love to see the ultrasound. She held my hand, and wouldn’t stop talking. This is until the doctor said “and it’s a boy!”. In which Z proceeded to put her hands over her face unbelieving that the baby sister she had been dreaming of was actually a baby brother.
Sean and I were both in shock, but all I could do is laugh. 10 minutes before the ultrasound I was talking to my nurse. She had asked if I had bought anything for the baby girl and I told her “yes, this darling purple stroller – guess if it ends up a boy – he’ll be riding in purple – hahaha”, and the laugh was on me.
I am seriously happy. Sean and I couldn’t agree on a girl’s name. The only nursery stuff I could find that I loved was for a boy. Another boy is another blessing. Our E is nothing but a love bug so we can only hope the same of this munchkin.
BUT I do want to say in a public forum to my kid, I am SO sorry for a few things.
- I am sorry for referencing you as a girl for 8 weeks of your life.
- I am sorry, but your crib is kind-of girly. I’m not willing to pay for shipping – damn online purchases. Plus its extremely cute.
- I am sorry for anything your brother and sister have said in the last few hours – they really do love you, they just don’t know it yet.
- I am sorry I may just push you around in the purple stroller, its way too fun.
Whew. Now that those apologies are off my chest, on to purchasing, decorating and prepping for a new little monster!
But first I must get rid of this killer headache and feeling like poo.
