13 Weeks

13-weeks

The first week of my 2nd trimester – I was expecting wonderful things. I’ve been waiting to see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow  - but its been just the opposite.  Texas is experiencing insane rain fall – we are on day 11 I believe of down pour. While I am sure this is great for the grass, plants, lakes and what have you – this has just made my week pooey. I am hoping that once this rain crap is clear – my 2nd trimester rainbow will appear so that the pot of gold can be found and this vomiting, nauseousness and constant sleep can go away.

The funny thing about the first trimester – it often reflects the baby’s first trimester outside of the womb. Your cute little alien-looking thing appears after months and months of hard work – for you to only realize it sleep and poops and eats – thats it. Then you realize the baby has to do this AROUND THE CLOCK.  No thank you’s – no high-fives NOTHING. This lasts for about 3 months. Coincidence? I think not.  Then comes the 2nd outside the womb trimester – where the baby smiles, goos and sleeps thru the night and then some. And you realize – oh this is why I heart babies.

Our weekend plans are full of moving stuff to storage and socializing with friends. Hoping I can make it thru today without a nap – last night I blissfully slept 11 hours. Maybe I could get use to the sleep, if only the nauseousness would go away. Until then, Zofran is still my BFF.
