No Tweeting For Teens…. (but for how long)

text2

One segment of the company I work for, specifically is targeted to teen (teen girls, specifically).  We have been utilizing Twitter for the last year and a half and quickly noticed, teens don’t tweet.  But  WHY and will this trend change? Teens LOVE their cell phones. I’m not buying that they are worried about text limits (any parent not buying unlimited texts is just dumb).

Twitter may not be effective talking specifically to teens, but what it does allow us to do is talk to different segements that are related purchasers, but not teens. Also – our Twitter goes to Facebook, so works as a handy content distribution mechanism.

Whether teens will utilize Twitter in the future? Only time will tell.  Until then, we’ll maintain our relationship with them on Facebook, since that’s where all the cool kids are.

Good read from Mashable:

Pregnancy Induced Roller Coaster

rollercoaster

Pregnancy is a roller coaster, of many sorts: emotions, energy, appetite, cravings, nauseousness, did I mention EMOTIONS?

I’m in Atlanta for work.  The flight was a joke. The turbulence and nauseasness are NOT a good combination. I’ve spent the last 6 hours holed up in a hotel room experiencing the other issues.

Tired? I have this new on-demand narcolepsy thing I can do. I think SLEEP -- wham I can sleep!

Appetite & Cravings: I couldn”t eat anything during the day. I bought food, but the sick stomach wouldn’t let me eat. Then comes dinner.  Hunger sat in.  I enjoyed quesadillas dipped in onion soup. My husband said “write that down for the books”. With Z, I loved cottage cheese and A-1 sauce. With E, I actually ate chips a hoy with curry.

Emotions: OH lovely emotions. Today I actually caught myself CRYING to a freaking WALMART commercial. With E I cried to On-Star commercials -- but those people were stuck in a car. Well apparently, Walmart’s new approach of giving your college kids who are leaving home the room they want in college has triggered my tear ducts.

Oh the joys, the ups and downs -- and this is only the beginning.

Excuse Me While I Vomit

bag-0121

I am still shocked that we’re adding another member to the household. It’s something we’ve planned for and have been trying for almost the past year. **TMI NOTICE** I have a screwed up period, so I actually have NO idea how far along I am. By my recent weight gain, I am hoping I am 6 months along (hardy har har).

Today, as I was sitting in a seminar working over lunch with a chicken salad sandwich, I came to the quick understanding that chicken salad and this pregnancy was NOT going to mix. I was doing SO good with minimal sickness so far this pregnancy, but had to proceed to the lady’s room.

With my first child Z, I spent 7 months yacking. I’d vomit when I woke up, I vomitted on the way to work (twice, I had to return home to change clothes and clean out the car). I lived on Zofran. The only good thing – I only gained 10lbs the entire pregnancy.

My 2nd child E was a total surprise. I was on birth control (THANKS NUVARING!) and had an 18 month old. The vomitting clued me in that MAYBE just maybe I was prengnant. Fortunately only 3 months were spent yacking with him.

Praying for an easy pregnancy. I am traveling a lot and morning sickness just wouldn’t make that any funner. Just in case, I have started stealing barf bags from airplanes. One can never be TOO prepared.
